you can't... an mp3 is an auido file, an mp4 is a video file... why would you want to anyway?

mp4 may contain both video and audio, video only, or audio only. Some, like Apple used m4a to identify that it's a mp4 audio only. There are a lot of converters out there to do this job.

it was posted here earlier, but i haven't done it myself...
but the procedure given was to convert from mp3 to aac using apple itunes. (on low bitrate to save space). then simply rename the extension to .mp4 from .aac.
else, there are a lot of converters available at download.com or tucows.com
cheers!

Well, mpeg and avi files can also be video or audio only... but why bother? You're gonna have slightly more overhead rather than using AAC or MP3.
I just wanna know the purpose for his conversion... Not sure if QT Pro can do this... PVAuthor can I think.

@devilfishes: I use DBpowerAmp sw to convert mp3 to mp4. mp4 files are just the half of the size of mp3's and the quality still remains the same.

I use Nero Wave Editor. Quality is same, and size of an avarage mp4 is 1,5-2mb, while mp3 avarage size is 3-4mb.

I tried changing the extension but it made no difference I take it you don't to it by simply renaming it.

Then you´re doing somethin wrong...all you have to do is rename the extension from .m4a to .mp4
