Hi, I thought the latest firmware is R2A003? When I do an online update, it updates my firmware to R2L. This would be great if I already didn't have the R2L firmware. What am I doing wrong?

you are not doing anything wrong but as has been mentioned many times R2AA003 is not available on the online update and indeed if you read the
R2AA003 thread you can see that in fact it has been made unavailble to service centres as well pending a new version coming soon.
