not only will this use less battery power than the last trick but it's much easier.
step 1. hold the power off button until your mobile switches off.

cold batteries work better than warm ones.
i read this story somewhere about a mountain climber who was injured in the snow capped mountain somewhere. and his satellite phone battery almost ran out. so he took it out and placed it in the snow for a little while, and afterwards... he was able to make a call for help.

thats not because of the temperature, generally in higher temps chemical reactions (as in the battery) go more intensively, he could have accuired those extra drops of power by letting the battery rest though, if you drain the battery in the phone so it shuts down and cant start uip again, then leave the battery for an hour or so, outside of the phone and then put it back in, you can usually start the phone again and have a few minutes more of battery time
