I'm a newbie in this P9x0 world... but
It's just me or then the screen saver and clock power saver are active they don't show a single CLUE there is a missed phone call / message awaiting to be read ???
Is this normal or am I missing something??

No you're right. I disabled the screen saver on mine, partly for that reason.
You can get some clue by the green LED. It flashes faster if you have a message.

I don't know about P900, but in t68i it flashes faster only very short time.
As I remember, in good old times the LED of Ericsson mobile phone flashed faster until you read the sms or pushed no-key.
