hey all,
Quick question.
I've got a vodafone contract through Carphonewarehouse and my contract is ending in December which I want to end.
So, i know that I'm entitled to an upgrade after the 12 months.
Is it possible to get the upgrade, (pay for one more month) and then cancel?
OR as soon as I start the next month and get a phone do I have to stick with them for another 12 months?
Thanks

@amnesia
It is definitely another 12 months, from the date that you upgrade.

When you get an upgrade you go into another 12month contract, but if you do want a new phone it usually works out cheaper to cancel you contract and start a new one, and its now so easy to keep your old number.
That’s what I’ve just done, and my new S700i should be here within a few hours!!!

Which is all very well, but you have to be prepared to change network, as you cannot "port" your number within a network.

wot happens if you cancel the contract after upgrading to a new fone.I know you get charged for something but is that cancellation fee depend on your fone and tariff or is it a fixed price?
never tried it so just curious.

But the thing is, if you can suffer the first couple of years being a upgrader for money, after you've got a couple of years under your belt you can often just get your upgrades and accessories a lot lot cheaper or indeed free and the main benefit is that you get to keep your number.
I have now been online with Vodafone for 8, nearly 9 years and I just call up and demand stuff as and when. You may recall a few weeks ago I posted up the fact I got both my P900 last Decmeber and my )910i this september (thats 10 months) for absolutely nothing.
I did have to fight a bit but so what? They tried to charge me £120 for my P910i but in the end gave in.
So I dunno, by all means chop and change around but after a couple of years you can begin to carry a bit of loyalty weight which can add up.

btw, I don't know what its like with vodafone contracts through cpw but with vodafone connect I can upgrade after 10 months of the 12 month contract so you might check that out and do it now if cpw work the same way
