Don't know about you, but I can't get ordinary POP3 working on mine, let alone secure POP3.

Any ideas anyone?

I had the Pop3 working with my old T610, but I have tried everything to get this dialup and work, it just does not find the server.

Has anyone had the same problem.

I have POP3 working fine the trick is to use the IP for the server and not the server name....

thats the only snagg i had with my POP3 account, IF I JUST COULD GET A SEC POP CLIENT TO WORK I WOULD BE HAPPY

The bigest problem I have with mine to work is that the dialup does not seem to work, i tested this on my other phones p900 and t610 and it works fine.

it seems not to like the login and password verfication, this must be different on the k700, compared to the others.

I tried the exact secure settings connecting dialup through bluetooth and IR on my ipaq and it worked fine, so there must be some dial string needed on the phone for this to work, but i cannot add dial strings with the dialup on the phone it just allows numbers.

I will contact SE local support to see if they can help.

My local SE dealer has said that really there is no support for dialup, as this phone is designed for more gprs functions, is this true.

Also my mobile providor does not have settings for dialup for the k700, but if you send the t630 setting to phone is works with there webmail, but not to other dialup vendors or to my works dialup site.

I am very tempted to go back to my p900, but I like the size of the K700.

The K700i does support CSD as a method of checking your e-mail. But honestly, if it's a POP3 e-mail then there isn't really a downside to GPRS (unless you're downloading huge e-mails).

There's no reason that CSD should not work for your K700i. Although you will need to setup a Data Account and an Internet Profile for your dial-up to do this on a sony ericsson K700i handset.

I tried those settings, as the same thing happened, but I have discovered the dial up vendor uses TCP-Clear as the protocol method, it seems the K700 does not like this one, but the other SE phones does it this.

I got two sim cards now and two phones, one to use as a telephone (K700), and another to read mail (P900)
