> Vodafone wont let you upgrade to P910
Bookmark topic
On Sunday I went into my local Vodafone store to check out the cost of upgrading to the P910 with 7 months commitment on an existing contract I was told Vodafone no longer allows anyone to do a paid upgrade.
So it looks like you have to pay up your contract on the lowest tarif in advance take your PAK code and go elsewhere if you want to upgrade at reasonable cost! Or of course shell out top dollar for a Sim free unit
Given the fact my average bill is between £100 and £120 per month even with 1000 anytime, and vodafone seem happy to spend their clients money like water on Man Utd and F1 (Yes I do understand about corporate advertising strategy's !) it just seemed a bit short sighted to me, has anyone else been told this?

Try asking for an inferior model/brand, they may not want you to get the pricey phones! Read on other post that if you have been with them a long time an upgrade is possible after ten months.
I do this every 11 months myself, on O2 contract for 10 years! I am a select customer.

seems a bit weird not to want your customers to keep buying your business and have them pay for a subsidized phone in the process

@Vlamm
The industry is rather strange in that regard, one would imagine that the networks would be more than happy to retain loyal customers and have them spend more money with them.

yes..... strange enough the real focus appears to be with reeling new customers in... but once they're on board they are no longer the priority it seems

@Vlamm
It would seem so, unless of course one actually tells them that one is leaving, in which case they usually make one a very nice offer to stay.

I do that (pretend to want to leave) as a matter of course every year now
I got my P910 for nothing 10 months into my 12 month contract, unbranded, and also got half price line rental for 6 months and a half price data package for 6 months

@masseur
There a name for people like you, something to do with 'sod' and 'jammy' I believe.

nah, I'm sure its not me, its just the silly money I spend with them
I do recommend anyone to call the "leaving vodafone" line though as I've heard so many people say they got 6 months half price line rental without much trouble and that can be worth a bit
