ok guys, i've had lots of p.m's asking me for settings on how to create pop3 email from yahoo to your mobile! so listen up......
I am going to let you know this one more time!!!
Here goes this is for ORANGE only!
1. select messages on your p900 and click edit on the top and got to messaging accounts.
2. click on new to make a new account!
3. the first part you will see is BASIC TAB - details at the top of Account name: Enter your yahoo email address WITHOUT the @yahoo.co.uk
4. your name can be anything! just use your 1st name to keep it simple!
5. Email Address: enter your FULL email address.
6. connection type:POP3
7. Internet Account: Preferred
8.INBOX TAB - username: once again your email address WITHOUT the @yahoo.co.uk bit...
9. password: your password you use to log into your yahoo email.
10. INCOMING SERVER ADDRESS: - pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk
11. Download: No restrictions
12. OUTBOX TAB - OUTGOING SERVER ADDRESS: - smtp.orange.net
13. ADVANCED TAB: - do not check the secure connection box
outgoing mail port - 25
Use mime encoding - YES
Incoming mail port 110
Do Not check the secure password authentication box!
PLEASE REMEMBER THIS IS FOR ORANGE USERS ONLY. IF YOU USE ANY OTHER NETWORK YOU NEED TO CONTACT THEM TO GIVE YOU THEIR OUTGOING SERVER ADDRESS WHICH WILL BE SMTP.........??
AND ALSO REMEBER THIS ONLY WORKS ONCE YOUVE SIGNED INTO YAHOO MAIL ON YOUR PC AND GO TO MAIL OPTIONS IN THE TOP RIGHT HAND CORNER AND ACTIVATE POP3 - CLCIK ON POP ACCESS AND FORWARDING IN MANAGEMENT COLUMN, WEB AND POP ACCESS NEEDS TO BE CHECKED YOU ALSO HAVE TO CHECK THE BOX WHICH SAYS I WANT TO RECIEVE ALL MESSAGES EVEN THOSE THAT YAHOO THINKS IS SPAM! (this will not harm in any way, prevents any messages being blocked!) you dont need to go into pop settings just make sure the circle is checked!
IF YOU FOLLOW MY INSTRUCTIONS THIS WILL WORK. once completed just click on messages on your p900 go to the account u just created and click get&send at the bottom! WALA........!

just a gotcha....This is with regards yahoo.CO.UK and not .COM which I understand is a pay per POP3 access server.
I just spent ages trying to get this to work and found that if when you sign up you do not enable Yahoo to send you the spam/advertising stuff then POP3 access will not work even if it says it is enabled in the Yahoo settings page.
I verified it with two test accounts, both identical except one I unchecked 'send me advertsing stuff'.
I couldnt figure out how to make it work once i had signed up for the account with this option unchecked.
I hope this stops you from pulling all your hair out like I did!

This is something that's always confused me about Yahoo! mail.
Even though I'm in the UK, I signed up ages ago before the @yahoo.co.uk adresses came about. So my email address is [username]@yahoo.com.
However, as I've already bagged my [username], that means that nobody else can have my [username]@yahoo.co.uk or [username]@yahoo.de or any other yahoo extension. So it seems a bit silly that an e-mail send to any of these addresses can't all come into my account. I'm sure there's a technical reason for this, but it's just a shame.
Furthermore, I've got an 'alias' username, that doesn't include my real name - Qwerty_uk in fact! But yahoo only allows one of your aliases to be your active email address. Which means that nobody (not even me) can have
Qwerty_uk@yahoo.[anything] either.
Anyway, this has nothing to do with P900s, so I'll shut up now.....
.....by the way, I haven't been able to use the full Yahoo! mail site on my P900 because it's trying do funky stuff (cookies, javascript, I dunno). But the WAP version of Yahoo! allows nice fast access to Yahoo! mail, so try that if you can't do POP3.

Also in your Yahoo! Account online you have to manually permit POP3 access and forwarding in your options/settings screen.

Hi all
I have my yahoo mail setup and working fine on my P910i. But the size is going to be a problem as I have alot of mail, also If I want to downlaod some attatchements.
Does anyone know of a way you can move your mail on to your Memory Stick and save it there instead of phone memory. Or any 3rd pary software that can do this.
Thanks

well i dont think its possible to move your mails to the memory stick.certainly not for p800/p900 dnt really know for the p910.but you could save your attachments to the memory stick and erase the mail if its not needed but I dont think there is a way to move the actual e-mail.sorry
if there is a third party software that enables this then please post cos I to would find this advantageous

I have yahoo.com email (US). I don't know what do you mean not having pop access un US. I have my yahoo.com id working fine for me in p910 and I have been using this as a pop mail (downloading and sending mail from my Outlook client using my Yahoo Mail for many years now. Never had any problem with yahoo pop or even smtp.
