Hi!

I've got an SE K700i branded with Vodafone (Phone4U - Singlepoint) and I simply want to update the software so I can play MP3s as ringtones. I tried the SE update website but it said 'There is currently no service for devices belonging to your operator'.

That led me to these forums. I've read some of the other threads but there's a lot of contradiction and it's too confusing to work out.

I know is works with the T28 cable but the Multiserver website says it works with the DSS-25 aswell - I can't get it to work. Simply keeps asking me to 'Press on in phone now' but never gets any further. Tried 'tapping' the button as well!

I'm def connected properly because I can sync using SE's software.

Can someone point me in the right direction please? or else it's a trip to Car Phone Warehouse in Guildford apparently.

Cheers

Prod

Flashing Times using USB Cables like Fighter USB cables, DSS-20 or DSS-25 Original SonyEricsson USB Devices (drivers supplied by cable developer)*

USB Cable 921600 Baud Rate Selected Time Taken
K700i Unlocking 49 seconds
Full Flash K700 Firmware and Language 5 minutes 17 seconds
K700i Firmware Flash Only 4 minutes 20 seconds
K700i Language Flash Only 1 minute 15 seconds

*these cables were tested by our team however we do not guarentee DSS-xx cable support

I finished Unlocking and unbranding my Z1010 just minutes ago. However i followed faceoffmobiles recommendations and used El Cheapo T28 data cable converted to service cable.
Everything went extremely well, took a while and a couple of fingernails though

Bottom line: Use T28 cable and have a cup of coffe while Totalserver does the deed!
Itīs slow but it works..

Thanks everyone for your replies.

After convincing their phone engineer (that took some doing as well), I went to Car Phone Warehouse in Guildford, and got it upgraded to the latest Vodafone software for free (R2V001). Now I can play Vodafone Live downloaded MP3's as ringtones but NOT the ones that come with the phone.

I then found this (http://www.mobile9.com/invboard/lofiversion/index.php/t6095.html), downloaded the software from SE's developer site and converted one of the phones MP3's that it comes with it - "You Have a Call.mp3" now becomes "You Have a Call.dm". I then renamed it to "You Have a Call1.dm" and put it in the Sounds folder of the phone and.....

...IT Bl00DY WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got there in the end, no thanks to Vodafone. Guess which brand I'm NOT buying when I upgrade my phone next year?
