I am wondering where all you people who already have a P90i got your phones cheap, Here in Australia the RRP is $1599 which is a ripoff in my opinion. They were gonna charge me $6-800 for the MS Duo (can't remember the exact price but its was outrageous).

Anyway, what is the best place to buy these two items? the stores don't need to have both the phone and memory, but I am looking for someone who internationally delivers.

Thanks.

As far as i know, the situation today is to either buy one or two 512 mb sticks off eBay, or wait for a year or so (probably even more, considering that it is a new item), for the prices on 1 gig sticks to fall.

What about the P910i? $1599 AUD is just not acceptable.

what is that in USD? problem is if you buy internationally SE Australia will most likely not honor the warranty.

here in asia, i bought mine for just under USD 800.

WOW!!! It's only about AUD$1100 here in the Philippines, or about US$800

I'd have bigger worries then the $800 they were charging you for the 1G MSD PRO m8. For the simple fact that a 1G MSD PRO is not even released to-date. I'm not sure why the poster told you to wait for the 1G MSD prices to fall off when they have not been released. The 2G MS PRO and 1G MSD PRO are to be released sometime in November of this year. And the expected street price for the 1G will start at $350. So with that said, looks like you got someone that is quick to rip you off with a 1G MS PRO for a steep price with the intent of stating it's a 1G MSD PRO.

As a sound advice to you please do a search on this form about this topic. You have to understand that several vendors have been mis-representing their products for the past 2 yrs. Especially when it concerns memory sticks. They seem to have a lot of idiots running their marketing departments that can't tell a regular memory stick from a memory stick duo. Again, tons of threads on this forum that calls out certain big name companies caught in this advertising blunder.

Expected Release - Nov. 2004 | Initial Street Price - $350 USD.

********Actual useable space = 940mb************

$1599(AUD)? Where's that? Expansys (which for all intents and purposes seem to be the most expasysve.errr.. expensive lot around) has it listed for $1299 (AUD). Same goes for Organizer World - exactly the same price. Oh, and that's with GST included - it's about $120 cheaper if you manage to dodge that one.

Speaking of Expansys- I just had a chat to some front-desk support dude at Expansys and it seems that they'll have them stocked in a couple of weeks. He said, maybe earlier, but best bet is a couple of weeks. On the other hand - when I called Bright-Point a couple of weeks ago, they told me they'll start stocking the damned things on the 27th. If you were interested on the "official" release date, then draw your own conclusions because sure as hell I can't. Bastards!

With regards to the price, well, that's another thing. If you try to buy it outright of any store, then you're probably in for a nasty shock. Haggle with them and don't let them go. Having the cold-hard-cash at your disposal does help a lot too. I haven't seen yet a merchant too happy about losing $1000 worth of sale. Just remember that you're the one with the money and they want it. It may take you a while but if you do it right, it does pay off.

Oh, and there seem to be plenty of P910s on Ebay too, somewhere around the mark of $1200, but not knowing what's the deal with being charged through the a** by customs (GST and what-not) I'd do my homework first and then go for one of them.

I managed to source a P910i for $1153 including postage and insurance. I've had it just over a week now and love it to bits.

Now I've found a 1 GIG MS DUO PRO for $300 AUD from a local shop (who knows what I can find on ebay then).
