Yo
Masseur & co might lock this subject (cos I'm sure its ben discussed in a number of posts), but let's try and gather together our opinions on optimal camera settings for various picture conditions. That way, any new s700 users can get started quicker and any existing users can tweak the way they use it.
To make it a bit clearer, how about using this as a template..
Scenario 1 - Daytime, clear day: blah blah blah...
Scenario 2 - Daytime, bright sunshine: ...
Scenario 3 - Daytime, overcast:
Scenario 4 - Nighttime, dusk:
Scenario 5 - Nighttime, dark with ambient lighting:
Scenario 6 - Indoors, in a club

:
Scenario 7 - Indoors, under fluorescent lights:
Scenario 8 - Indoors, Low light:
Add to the scenario list if you see fit.
Cheers, L

Ok, been playing with the camera.. here's something that seemed to work well this evening...
Scenario 8 - Indoors, Low light:
Light on, White Balance Fluorescent, no effects and no night mode.

Here's another one
Scenario 7 - Indoors, under fluorescent lights:
No light, white balance auto, no spot photometry (makes the subject 'glow' too much)
will post a pic a bit later.
