Hi All,

I know the phone is now well anticipated since its recent announcement and of course there is a lot of talk that it should be with us sometime in November but definitely in time for Xmas. I am truly looking forward to it and would be keen to hear if anyone has any news on firm release dates. Additionally what are Vodafone's tariffs and launch going to be? The one tariff I have heard about is 500 xNet mins, 250 SMS, 30 Video calling minutes for about £50. There is talk that the initial promotion will be double Video minutes for the first 6 month. Not as good value as I had hoped, but if anyone has any other news, I would be keen to hear it. Of course handset price would be nice too.

Thanks

Since vodafone has not released any such info so far (at least not over here even though the phone is supposed to be due next week...), your guess on tarifs is a s good asanybody's. Been to the Voda Citypoint store earlier today and they knew nothing so far

You really think they will release specific 3G Talkplans? I suspect we will just see the standard Voda talkplans available with the Live! 3G handsets. I'll be happy to be proved wrong though if they do actually provide some better value tariffs to reflect the lower cost of carrying calls on 3G!

The thing is 3G is new and considering the poor offering by 3 to date, I feel Vodafone will have to offer something as an incentive for people to take up the new service. I would rather 6 months have price line rental on 2.5G than 6 months double video minutes on 3G, so why join?

The info on the 500 min deal is from someone within Vodafone, but they could not get their hands on any more info.

What I expect is an additional data bundle for UMTS... so where my 'plan' now looks like 150 voicemins + 50 texts + 15MB gprs data it might look like 150 voicemins +50 texts + 15 MB gprs data + 15 MB UMTS data

Unfortunately nothing like that has been announced over here so far, right now anybody with a voda Live! SIM card and an UMTS phone can use the services and pays per item (like € 0.80 per minute for videocall for example) but Voda here has always been great in bundling and I for one would prefer it to be inclusive in the contract (in any way shape or form) then having to pay for it in addition to the contract, which is how it is today.

I sincerely doubt the voicetariffs will decrease at all though
