I'm going to purshase the p910 from ORF shop in Germany, but i'm not sure wether the phone has the branding (although the responsible people there say that phones are not "branded"). Could anyone please say to how one can detect CDA version the quickest way possible, so that I could ask them to give me the version via telephone?

p.s. it is not about design or so, i just want to install all possible updates and things on p910, which is not possible if the one is branded...

thanks for answers...

when you open the flip you are on the applications screen. just choose the edit menu, then system information (might be different in german) and the CDA is on the 3rd screen (use arrow to get to next screen)

you can then go to the update service and type that CDA in to get an idea if you will be able to use the online service

it won't really tell you for sure if its branded unless you get a message saying that your operator does not approve the use of the service. even if you don't get that its not sure that the phone is not branded.

usually its obvious from the startup/shutdown screen if the phone has been branded. thats probably the easiest way

If they are going to sell you a new phone chances are the battery won't be installed. So I'd suggest you just ask them to look at that white sticker next to where the sim card should be. Then tell them to read the very last line in the lower right-hand corner.. The line should start with "CDA....". They won't even have to take the phone out of the plastic to be able to read it. However, they'll need to open up the box and that's it.

thanks a lot for quick and comprehensive answers, guys! I'll definitely do like that.

p.s. if there are any german speakers here I would be happy to receive a hint what could the titles of menu element in German for the case that the employers would refuse to look at back side of phone

Yeah.. Check out the thread as Mass- suggests. Or take his earlier advice about going to SE's site and simply typing in that CDA version. I would only suggest that if they are going to go through the trouble of opening up a box for you it's probably smart to tell them to send the one whose CDA revision number they were willing to spell out to you. You don't want them to end up sending an entirely different unit from the one you're going to verify.

Easy way:

CDA162005/X without branding

CDA162006/X with branding
