This new vending machine in hongkong located in the subway station of all places. It's selling SIM cards for mobile phones, both the GSM and the CDMA variety (for those visiting China and wishing to have CDMA). Cards cost, mostly $98HK which is about $13 USA.
Almost all Hong Kong phones are sold "unlocked" meaning you can switch SIM cards at will.
Will we ever get to this point in the rest of the world where a phone is as easy a pack of gum? I hope so, but as long as the big networks "lock" mobile phones most people won't know that getting a mobilephone can be this easy.

thats cool ! Very convenient too.
Over here in India, you cant get even a prepaid connection without proof of address such as drivers licence copy or somethin like that !

Hmmm . . . yup, as 'reloadable' is more appropriate I guess . . . The rechargeable thing has become more 'synonymous' with batt's and chargers - I guess.
