I've found a funny bug in my P910i:
When there's no network available (i.e. in the subway), the phone displays the following message:

EMERGENCY CALLS ONLY

I wonder which marvel of technology is this that makes possible to do an emergency call when there is no network at all!!

Maybe the phone makes a long distance call directly to GOD...
LOL

It's not a bug - I can't remember how it works, but you should still have the facility to call emergency services while out of service. phones have been displaying that message since way back when.

I don't consider it a bug going into emergency call only mode since it did happen before on my service provider that their system can't make calls but can do emergency calls. Anyway, it happened to my P910i just last week when I'm inside a mall that it goes to emergency call only mode. It didn't get back to normal mode even a few minutes of roaming around until I restarted the unit.

I always thought that 'Emergency calls only' meant that you don't have a signal on your own network, but that another network is available, which you don't normally have access to, but can make emergency calls on

that is correct. on the older Ericsson phones, the message read 'SOS Calls Only' or something to that effect. and when no network at all can be detected, the 'No Network' message is displayed.

OK, this makes some sense ... but there is no carrier signal, of any network, deep inside the Metro tunnel where I live (Lisbon).
Next time it displays this message I must try to call an emergency number ...

There HAS to be a signal in the metro! Imagine the danger!! At the very least I'd expect some GSM relay for the emergency calls.
