Just aquired the new Splinter Cell game designed for the K500. Tried to play it on the K700i but all I got was a message saying it is not compatible with this phone.

I know the game will run on the K700i as there is no difference between the underlying Java framework of the two phones, looks like SE have put in a routine to check the phone make so they can ensure that the K500 is the "mobile gaming machine"!

Personally I think this is wrong!!! Game looks so good, we K700i-ers deserve this game!

It may be because of the site that you are trying to download the game doesn't recognize the IMEI of the k700. Sometimes, I post messages on wap here from my t637 (t630 US version) and instead of getting that "Posted from a t637" or at least a t630, I get a "Posted from a WAP device. I think that it's all in the IMEI number that the site detects.

No No it downloads properly. It doesnt run.

When you start it up, it says "this app designed to run only on....... K500,k508......"

That's very odd.i was also under the impression that the k7 used the same gaming engine as the k5!have you tried any alternative games? This message was posted from a T68i

There´s very few games, or only one (super tenis 3d) that match the graphic power of Splinter Cell 3d...it´s sad SE doesn´t launch a k700 version

But i guess that if someone got hold of a Splinter Cell 3d copy on the pc (the game is only available via wap push), it could be worked in order to make it run on other phones besides k500

I know there is a way to trick web sites into thinking your browser is a wap browser. It cannot be done with Internet Explorer but I know it works on Firefox and Opera, I just cannot find the text file I had with the instructions on how to do it!

Anyone think they can get around this protection once the game is downloaded to a pc?
