After six weeks, my k700i would lock up now and then in a "optimizing charging" loop with beep when I plugged in the charger. I sent the phone in the NC, USA service center. They seemed to have upgraded the firmware from R2A041 to R2E011. The phone no longer locks up, but I still get multiple "optimizing charging" with beeps sometimes when I stick in the charger. This problem occurs with the travel or car charger.

Anyone else have this problem? Also, is R2E011 the latest firmware?

A beep should be notify u that the fone has been started the charging. If its happening aslong u charge aswell, that could mean the charger is loose and it effects batt performance later. Try another charger. This message was posted from a T68i

I agree with boba, always keep ur fon in horizontal position while charging and avoid using ur fon while charging.

I don't think it's a loose or bad charger. I have tried a cst-13, css-20, and car charger to charge the phone. I can replicate this multiple showing of "optimizing charging" (each with a beep) till I fiddle with the end plug cable in the phone charging slot. Then usually I can get it to charge fine.

To charge in the car isnt very good aswell, cos its not continualy as in a wall plug. The motor takes less and more power depending on the way of u drive. This message was posted from a T68i

Sometimes even I get the same kind of problem but when I unplug the charger and plug it again..it works fine i guess u should have a look at ur phone charging pannel, is it loose or something? and if it is better get ur fon replaced form where u brought it mate.

I just got it back from the SE service center

I can live with it, as it is no longer locking up the phone. I am just disappointed this phone is so finicky about its charging plug, especially since its a battery-eater.

@narsus could it be that the batt is defect? This message was posted from a T68i

I called SE support after I got the phone back. They said it could be a battery issue.

I have ordered a 3rd party desktop charger and 750mah li-ion battery. I hope it goes away with the new battery. I am waiting for delivery

The phone came with a bst-35 li-poly 700mah. It looked new and very official, so I doubt it's a bad battery, but you never know.

I will post what happens with the new battery when I get it.
