> BT headsets on a converted P900
Bookmark topic
It looks like I have just bought the information on eBay on how to convert the P900 to a P910I. Yeah, I know........ but I am really concerned about Bluetooth headsets!
Can anyone confirm that the Plantronics M2500 headst will continue to work after this conversion? I really need this and would hate to pay money and then lose the main thing I use BT for.
Obviously flashing the P900 firmware will be out the window but can the phone be flashed with future P910 updates?
And is the conversion worth it overall ie benefits against drawbacks?

Yes, well I just read the 384 replies to the main thread on here about the upgrade if that's a start but still did not manage to get an answer to that particular question. We get a might/might not answer which is not very useful. Anyone definitely managed to make it work?

PS. About to spend my lunchtime reading the 382 answers on Howard's Forum now. Phew............

@Dougproctor
There's a good chance that your BT headset may NOT work after the upgrade. I would have to say your chances are somewhere near the ballpark of 20-25% success rate. Forget about being able to do an online upgrade. The online system verification will definately detect your phone is NOT a P910x.
These factors may seem like a big sacrifice, but remember there's only one and only one reason why most P900 owners do this.. It's the ability to have expanded memory capabilities (i.e. MSD PRO). That's it.

@BigFeat
The p910 online update would probably kill the phone anyway, even if it did work. The p900 conversion files are not complete p910 firmware, they are specially modified to suit the p900.

Oh well, a fiver wasted! I have emailed the eBay seller of the upgrade information but there seems to be a lack of communication. Shame really as the advert specifically mentioned the enhanced bluetooth capabilities of the upgrade. Not quite the whole truth then.......
Thanks

I would be very weary of that statement. It is totally on the opposite spectrum of what the upgrade actually does. I got to talking on the phone to the blok that started the initial posts concerning the conversion. At least he was upfront and honest about all the drawbacks to the upgrade. Seems like a lot of dealers are starting to bend the truth just a bit too much..
Anywho, the online update worked fine for me. No issues at all. It took about 20min and never once hicupped. Seems like most have had unfavorable results, but then again it doesn't mean it will kill your phone...
