Probably because P910 codes characters in UTF-8 (unicode), while the Esato are shown in ISO 8859-1 (western). Unicode is the newest, and cover a lot of languages, while ISO 8859-1 only covers the western European languages. So you cannot write Polish and Norwegian characters on the same page when you use ISO 8859-1, but if you use UTF-8 this is no problem.

Your web browser automatically changes between the character sets because the web pages define which they are made in. So you don't usually notice. But when somebody start to write UTF-8 in a ISO 8859-1 forum you notice problems. Because even though the special character £ (pound) is present in both character sets, the internal coding of them is different. Therefore you get an error while posting £ from your phone. The typical error from Norwegian P910, P900 and S700 is that "our" characters æ, ø and å becomes strange on web.

I hope I make sense. Somebody else can probably expand this explanation and pick out mistakes.

I can show you that your pound sign looks normal when I change Mozilla (it is similar in Opera or Internet Explorer) to view the page with UTF-8 settings, but absinthebri's disappears. When I change back to ISO 8859-1 your pound symbol get the error message, but absinthebri's is back again.

Two screenshots cropped and resized to make them easier viewable:
