The K700 is a better overall phone. But these two phones should never be compared with each other. And is the speaker the most important thing you're looking for in your phone? ;-)

whatether phone you decide on just make sure you dont get a vodafone one as the mp3 function has been barred and although it is possible with alot of messing about its very limited and not really worth the hassle

haha.. no.. taht's not all i;m deciding on

the k700i is only 70-80 bucks more than the k500i... however.. the phone comes with the old firmware.. that's my biggest drawback... they said they can ship it to the manufacturer for free but it will take like 1-2 months till i get it back !! haha.. i'm not planning to buy the sync station .. soo.. i dunno what to do..
nop.. it's gonna be unbranded, unlocked for sure

You might aswell buy a sync station because a month or 2 is tooo long and they dont really cost too much.

If there isn't much difference between the prices of these two phones then go for the K700. Value for money.

And speaker was your deciding factor??? Wierd? Get a k7 and let me assure you, that isnt the least of the reason to get that phone.
