with respect... whats a P1000? I wasn't aware any new phone had been announced or any specific details leaked (which would still be open for change anyway) so how can you possibly compare with a non existant phone?

I guess you can hope for a bunch of features in the P1000 and then hold out hoping that your desires become reality but I'd suggest a more realistic way to approach this is to consider phones actually available or announced so you have real features to consider in your decision

@eric_emeralds

Just a thought, but what if the P1000 is 3G? You wouldn't get much use out of it in the U.S. would you? My point is that you shouldn't base your decision upon speculation. Look at what you need from a mobile and then choose a product that satisfies those needs.

If you want to wait for the P1000, then one rumour had the release date as Q2 of 2005, although another rumour put it towards the end of 2005.

If you need a 3G phone right now and like the Z1010 then why not go for it? after all a 3G successor to the P910i (possibly called the P1000) may or may not be on the cards for the not so distant future, so if you can wait, why not. This message was posted from a P910

@masseur
i thought the details of p1000 were more widely available, i guess not :\ i was just curious as to whether or not i should go for the z1010 now or save my money for something more powerful. i heard that the p1000 would have wifi capability.

@scotsboyuk
do you have a link where i can find out more about 3g phones and 3g networks? are they just now getting up and coming in the US?

Is there UMTS net in the US?
If not, the z1010 wouldn´t work in USA, cus its 900/1800/UMTS

the p910i is the new p1000! and will not call it that, because it sounds downright crap.
