> Large files?
Bookmark topic
I have the t68i and am on the Vodafone uk network. I connect to wap via GPRS but am unable to download screensavers etc. I was pretty sure Voda supported large files? I'm also unable to send pictures/attachments via email, standard email with just text works fine.
Network issue, or just phone itself has a fault?
thanks in advance for any help.

same for me.
i've called vodafone and they reckon there is no limit. but they
are f*ckwits and did keep telling me that i should just limit myself
to using vizzavi!! hahaha right..! and that bird finally put me on
to their technical dept who told me that i shouldn't be downloading gif's as they are for computers...
i'd like to know what they score is for this cos if i'm paying vodafone
do be able to download 5 meg a month i want to be able to go just
that. anyone else here having a problem downloading "large files"?
with vodafone.. in fact more interested to hear if anyone here can...

Well i had the same problem, but with netcom in norway.. They say there are no such thing as 'enable large transfer' and it should work fine to download these sizes.. But my friend has the same phone, but he has 'telenor' and they asked him if he wanted to enable large data transfer.. It works just fine with him.. This is really annoying because i just switched from telenor to netcom.. And already hate netcom.. :-( anybody from norway that can download large files with netcom?

OK? But do Netcom support know what they are talking about? I sent a mail to Orange some time ago askin if the had a large file limitation on their WAP-gateway, and this is the response I received:
Thank you for your recent mail.
Unfortunately, your recent mail to ourselves has reached us incomplete.
Having checked your site, I can confirm that the information is correct, in that the Orange WAP gateway currently has a 1.5kb data limit. We are looking to have this limit raised as soon as possible, although, as yet we do not have a specific date when this will happen.
Should you wish to resend your mail, we will endeavour to answer any further question that you may have.
I look forward to your response.
Kind Regards

Does that mean that there will come a time our SP's in the Phils will also limit us to their WAP GW? What our the disadvantages for the SP side if they will allow the use of other WAP GW?
