Sorry if this has been answered - I did a search but couldnt find anything specific! Okay so like many others the offer of this phone with a free discman was too good to pass. Took it home thinking I would be able to use my Orange pay as you go without any probs only to see that it didn't work!
Now I noticed many people suggest using these multi server type programs. Isnt it possible to do that with other software from your PC itself? I am looking for free software. I already have a T28 cable as that is the other thing suggested in this unlocking process but still stuck for free software to do the job?
Also when it is successful - if I put my orange payg sim in - will it be different or still have all those vodafone menu items. I just want the phone in its most basic form as I dont plan to use the vodafone chip anyways so i can afford to lose those vodafone objects!

so is the only way to unlock the 500/700 SE phones through a paid method, is there no free options?
