> Auto Anwser on s700i
Bookmark topic
Hi there, first proper post on this forum. Just brought a s700i which is a fantastic phone. Great camera great layout even like the style of the phone when its open, basically its the mutts nuts.
When i got the phone i also got myself a Jabra BT250 headset, now i try to set the s700 to auto anwser (which i expected would make the phone automatically pick up after so many rings) i try ring the phone and nothing happens.
I wonder if you could help because this would be very usefull for when i'm riding on my motorbike. Obviously i can't fiddle round putting my hand inside my helmet when riding like you can in a car so this would have been the perfect anwser for me, however i can't get it working so far.
Any help is really appreciated cause i'm just missing out on one of the features of this rather amazing phone.
Many thanks
Ian Hardy

Did you activate 'Automatic' answer through the 'Handsfree' option under the 'Settings' option on the main menu?

Hi there, yes i have made sure its been set. I'll try it with the normal handsfree kit you get with it to see.
Hope that someone can come up with a soloution as it would be a shame not to get the best from the BT headset
Thanks for the quick response.
Ian
P.S Just tried using the standard handsfree kit and this seems to work okay, will do all the features, voice anwsering, auto anwser etc, but it doesn't seem to want to pass it on to the BT headset.

After you selected the option for 'Automatic' answering, did you then activate the Handsfree profile? Since the automatic answering function, in the 'Settings' menu, is a 'Handsfree' option, you will need to activate the 'Handsfree' profile, which can be found in the 'Settings' menu too, under 'Profiles' in the 'General' tab.

Yes i have got the handsfree profile selected. Will try a work around of using both the cable handsfree and the bluetooth to see if that would maybe work. Not brilliant but a soloution, after that i guess its a quick email to the support team at either sony or jabra.

It is rather odd; I really can't think of what else it might be. I wonder if anyone else has had this problem, if so it might be a general problem with the S700.

Are you using the "Portable handsfree" profile?
To use my HBH-300 I go to Connectivity->Bluetooth->My devices and select the headset (actually i don't, i have a shortcut set).
When i select it, it automatically chages the Profile to "Portable handsfree" and i work with it with no probs.
Will try the "Automatic answer" though, since i don't have it enabled...

I might have discovered something useful. Instead of activating 'Automatic' from the 'Calls' tab in the 'Settings' menu i.e. 'Settings', 'Calls', 'Handsfree', 'Answering mode', 'Automatic', activate the Portable Handfree profile and then edit the profile so that the answering option is set to 'Automatic'.

It might be something as simple as Jabra headset don't support att the features of the S700 handsfree options
