> Can a new SIM card improve network signals?

i live in a area where my O2 K700 barely gets signals from its own network but it shows full signal strength with T-mobile (tried that with a T-mobile SIM, ofcoz).
is there such thing as a enhanced SIM card that can get better network reception? should i phone those O2 ppl up and ask for a new SIM??
It's a pain in the *ss that u can't make calls all the time but on a 45 pound contract. any suggestion guys?
by the way, the phones comes with the laster firmware.

Network signal strength isn't affected by one's SIM card beyond the fact that one must use the network signal corresponding to the SIM. Changing your current O2 SIM card for another one will have no effect on the signal you receive as far as I am aware.
The strength of signal you receive is baded upon two factors;
The ability of your mobile to receive a signal
The strength of a particular network's signal in a given area
Hence the reason a new SIM card from your existing network will have no effect.

I'm on o2 as well and my signal is Shite pretty much 90% of the time. But i do belive the fone can be part of the problem of a Shit signal, as when i put my sim in my t68 signal seems to be better,maybe me but.. Best bet would be to go with the NW that is best in ur area.

@warwickchi - Better get a sim card (local network based) which has lots of cell sites, so that you'll be more satisfied. I guess in a way, yes, the brand of fone affects the sim's signal strength! As when I have in my room my Nokia fones, the signal (strength bar) reaches it's peak . . . while my SE fones can only reach half of the full-bar!

Different mobiles are able to receive network signals with varying degrees of success, some are better than others. You could try testing a few different mobiles if you can get your hands on them and compare, which ones give you the best signal.

Well dont see why not older fones can av better signals than new fones? As my t68 does piss all over my t610's signal.
