ericsson and se phones have always done this. it was really annoying back in the day because the text alert "beep beep" could wake the dead! i think its just because the phone cant tell the difference between normal sms and flash sms.
come on se sort it please!

my k700 does it and friends nokia 7250i does it also...

its handy, just put your phone on silent.

Oh, anyone that wants message delivery reports on 02, you need to put:

*0#

at the beginning of your text, it doesnt show up to the recipient, but you'll get a delivery report - 02 doesnt impliment them the same as vodafone and other networks

yes, i agree its handy, but these come up as soon as a text is sent or when you hang the phone up. flash sms are not really used for anything else (by o2 anyway) would it be so hard for se to write a line of code so the phone wouldnt make a noise when a flash is recieved?
there have been plenty of times when i sent a joke to several people at the same time and forgotten to put the phone on silent so then i looked stupid while the message alert went off 10/15/20 times in a row! if the phone made no noise for flash sms, no problems!
edit: oh and beware when i rung to turn off my balance alerts i was told they cant turn them on again.
