My P800 threw a wobbly the other night and announced that it was re-formatting itself. It survived this okay but in doing so cleared itself of everything I'd ever put in it. One quick Restore later everything seemed back to normal, but now I've noticed that the virtual qwerty keyboard doesn't pop up: the icon simply dims slightly and nothing happens. Where's it gone? And how do I get it back? (Incidentally I did have ezi-tap but that's disappeared as well... very strange)

welcome to Esato

almost certainly you are using Ezitap and if so then you should uninstall it and then reinstall it and you will be sorted

(same thing applies to P900 and P910 after a backup, online upgrade, and then restore)

edit: oh! I missed the last bit... you are using ezitap so this will probably fix you

I was using ezi-tap but now it's disappeared, so I can neither install nor un-install it to get my virtual keyboard back. Any more suggestions?

if its not in your uninstall list then just try installing it again then

its definitly ezitap related so you'll have to work with that

Excellent, thanks for that. Unfortunately now that it's disappeared I can't re-install it. I've just had a look around my PC as well as the P800 itself and it's definitely not there. Any ideas?

I had the same problem with my P910i, luckily whilst I was still in the process of transferring apps from my P900. You actually need to master reset and load your apps from the beginning, unless you have an "eZItap-free" earlier backup. You can't uninstall it because you can't access it, and you can't restore from your backup because that is what is causing the problem. I think it might be a problem with the way the application is backed up
