Hello, I have an S700i branded with Vodaphone Software. The phone is already unlocked...

I bought a credit and downloaded the TOTALSERVER 1.33 version of software.

I took my battery out, removed my SIM, and re-inserted the battery.

I then hooked up the serial lead from the PC to the port on the Phone.

I then fired up TOTALSERVER 1.33 and selected my phone from the list, entered my details into the login, and got my firmware.

I seleted my firmware in the debranding tab then clicked flash.

It came to the PRESS THE ON BUTTON ON YOUR PHONE.

I powered on the phone, and it boots up as normal and says Please insert SIM.

Any ideas?

thanks,

Adrian.

erm, try putting the sim card in?

I only say the obvious because you don't mention if you have or not.

But no flashing or debrnading appears to go on...

Also the instructions say to remove the SIM card.

Am I missing something?

I would suggest you check the com settings to confirm they are ok, then check the cable as there is a batch of faulty cables going round.

there was a post in the last few days about the fault they had in that a wire went to the wrong pin, can anyone confirm if this might be the problem?

Hello, I have a USB to Ericsson port adapter which installs as a normal com port, when installed in device manager it says:

Prolific USB-to-serial Comm Port

think I could flash it with this?

thanks,

I would suggest that this is the problem. I have a USB cable for the phone whih I use from time to time, but got the T28 cable from FaceOffMobiles to flash just to confirm 'nothing goes wrong'

I would think with your problem, the USB lead is not fully connected in some way and as a result is causing some communication errors.

You are not supposed to power on the phone in the middle of the update process, just a quick jab at the powerbutton will do. This may or may not be the problem in your case but i thought it was worth mentioning anyway.
Cheers!
