its not possible for the same reason that branded phones cannot be updated. the procedure checks the CDA and IMEI directly from the phone and doesn't allow the update

I have heard unverified comments that the system can be fooled but looking into the update log file I can't see how based on the timing of these checks

well the post I read (I think on HoFo) said that they put a P910 on the cradle until the last acknowledgment that the phone was powered off and then quickly changed for a P900 but as I say, looking at the update log I think its nonesense and certainly by now would be a well known way to do this

I believe that it should be possible to be done provited that you use the PC to upgrade the P910 first and then use recovery mode to update the P900. I think that in recovery mode, it does not check the phone details!

This is an extremely good point, but a little risky though. Anyone got both phones and not mind risking their P900? Could be universal adoration for you if it works (or just from me, but that'll have to do )

I have both P900 & P910i, well I will have when my P900 is returned from SE for a warranty repair, please can you list some idiot guide instructions on how you think it should be tried and I will give it a go, if the P900 goes T**S up I shall return it under warranty and blame them !
