> I've fixed my T39m!

My T39m was giving me the "No Network error". One day I decided to open it and see if I understood the phone; then, just for kicks, I tried to turn it on while disassembled: it worked and *got a network*; then , I reassembled the phone and it stopped getting network.
After a few repetitions of this, I forgot to turn the phone off before disassembling it and while unscrewing the motherboard the phone suddenly got network. I loosened up the screw on the upper left corner, tightened the others, closed the phone and it's been working solid for a week now.
This phone was deemed unrecoverable by service, unless I paid 250 Euro for spare parts.
Now: my firmware is R2S001 prgCXC125137 / R2S001 prgCXC125147_TAE. It seems to be an old firmware, how can I update it? The SE service center is a bit far from where I am. When the phone was there to try to be repaired, they didn't update the firmware.
It's a 01w47 phone, made in Malaysia, but it stayed inside a box (with the protections for the IR-window and the display) until last year: the original owner didn't find it interesting (dummy).
But hey! Now I have my phone back! I can use the MC218 again! I can iSync!

Good for you mate . . as you were able to SAVE some money too, had you brought it to the Service Center! Now what you have to do is OBSERVE the fone's performance . . .

No, it just has a sluggish keyboard and seems slow. I had a Samsung SGH-2100 before the T39 and the samsung seemed a lot faster: the keys had a positive click and menu navigation was very fast; the T39 seems to think too much when changing menus; especially after I master the menu number shortcuts (like Left-2-2 to read SMS messages, or Left-5-3-1 to set an alarm), the phone seems slow.
Oh, there was one weird thing: when I connected to my MC218 by infrared to ressync the phone numbers, the transfer started getting slower and slower until the phone "rebooted" (it was asking for my PIN) but the transfer proceeded as normal and was eventually successful. Weird, huh? And WAP connections are not very reliable: sometimes it stops in a page, claims it's loading the page, but gives neither error nor moves forward.
Oh, but I now have the best and the last of the "simple, no nonsense, flip-phone" breed. I love flip phones. After 5 years of having to recharge the phone daily, I also love having almost one week of standby time. If only the keyboard was a bit faster...
And I saved 250 euros, that will help me buy the S700 revision with full-screen video player and MStick Pro support... My Samsung was getting very flaky and if I couldn't fix this T39 (it had been dead in a drawer for six months before I tried this), I had to buy a new phone over Christmas...

I used in my whole life /// so i got used to the "speed". If its slow on wap, its network failure. The fone has wap browser 1.2.1 and 3+1 gprs, so its pretty good. Do like to reach all menus via menu nrs just as u do.
