Just got a P800 for free because the display is cracked. There's no black liquid crystal floating in the display, it's just the "glass" that's cracked. So I turned the phone on and it started up like it should, but when I tried to use the keyboard or the stylus pen, it doesn't respond. There's a clicking sound, but nothing else. It doesn't matter where in the display i use the stylus, it still doesn't "hit" anything, there's just that clicking sound. This leads me to one of two conclusions:
1. It clearly registers the stylus touching the screen, but since the display is cracked, the position of the pen is scrambled and registers either the same position no matter where I place the pen, or an invalid position. I don't know how the display works, but this is probably the logical conclusion.
2. There's something more than the display broken, which means that even if I exchanged the broken display, it still wouldn't work properly... IE, the phone would behave equaly bad with the new display as the old display
Is there anyone who's had this same problem with his P800 and could tell me if changing the display is enough?

i would have to agree with the above post, but if thats not an option, then i say go for a new screen. If there's no lcd spill and the actual display works, its probably the touch sensor. Unfortunately, i dont think you can buy them seperate. Ebay it.

Ok, now I've managed to start the phone with an unlocked SIM-card and using the navigational button on the left side. It seems my initial conclusion was right, whenever I use the stylus pen on the screen, it registers as a click on the battery-icon
Everything seems to work fine, so I'll probably order a new display and just cross my fingers
