> Birthday sync with P900
Bookmark topic
Morning. I've just noticed that I don't have my birthdays in the P900 calendar and I've spent all night trying to get it working - without success. This is what I've done.
- upgraded to 3.1.1 PC suite
- entered all the birthdays in Outlook in the contacts birthday field (on the Personal tab)
- installed Handy Dates on the P900
- synced between Outlook and the P900 (including contacts and calendar and getting the PC to override anything on the P900)
- run Handy Dates and asked it to import birthdays from Contacts
This then yields nothing. I believe it is meant to collect the birthday information I entered in the birthday field (a field which isn't displayed in P900 Contacts).
This is what the Handy Dates User Manual says: 'If you use Microsoft Outlook or Lotus Notes and have contacts with birthdays there, then you can import them into Handy Dates. First, sync your contacts to the phone using PC Suite. The contacts will appear in Contacts application, but without birthdays. Then open Handy Dates and select Import Contacts on the Edit menu. Handy Dates will extract the
birthdays from Contacts and put them into the event list.'
Except this doesn't happen.
Anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong. Am I missing something?

It worked before the v3.0 of Pc Suite (that is up to 2.4). I had the same problem, but with AquaCalendar. I suppose all apps that synch birthdays are useless now, until the developers update them to work with PC Suite v3.x

Thanks. That sounds about right.
So, there isn't anyway of getting birthdays off Outlook into the P900 at the moment.
Though I did read one fix which someone had done which was just to add all the birthdays in Outlook Calendar as appointments with reminders.

I don't like "the fix" cos I'm to lazy for doing all that. I'm just going to wait for the next version of AC which is right around the corner. The only thing I can be certain of now is that this is fixable, cos the developer of AquaCalendar said he's managed to fix it and the function will be available in the next release.
You should notify Epocware of the problem (although they are probably aware of it already) and hope for an update.
