I've just received my S700 and I've got a couple of questions that I'm hoping people can answer:

1. I've sent some pictures from my T610 phone to my S700 but they do not show a preview/thumbnail of the picture on the S700. How do I get it to show the preview/thumbnail

2. During playback of long movies the screen goes blank after about 5 mins. Where is the setting to stop this happening. Thanks

as is, it seems u cant get a thumbnail for a pic taken on a t610,i think its something to do with the image size, cuz if u alter the size to something nearer the size that the s700 takes its photos at,the thumbnails work

So are people's work around for Q1 just to press a key every now and again?

As for Q2. I will do a bit of playing around with different image sizes and see what works and what doesn't work. Thanks for the help.

I'm looking to upgrade from my beloved P900 to a P910/S700 in the next few days....however what networks should I avoid regarding branding?! Can't stand the crap Voda etc add to them, so: generally speaking which networks leave the S700 and P910 brand-free?

Thanks, still not sure which one to buy. The P900 was/is a great phone, gonna take a lot to surpass it!

Steer clear of the Vodafone branded S700i. They change the GUI and it looks nasty, you also cant use mp3's as ringtones. O2 however leave the phone pretty much as it should be.

woohoo! first post on esato...

The vodafone branding on my S700i is nowhere near as bad as it was on my T610. The icons are indeed different to those on a vanilla S700i, but they are tastefully done, and now use more than 3 colours... I was really concerned about this when i ordered mine, thinking that they would be the mono crap like on the t610.. some people even prefer them to the SE standard ones... only way to know is to look for youself, as you will be the judge...

as for no mp3 ringtone support, thats bs. You just need to use the Sony DRM tool to apply the digital rights management before uploading to the phone... Once its on, select use, then select as ringtone..

unfortunately it doesn't work for the K700i...bummer
