Hi guys,
The SE K700i on-line update service killed my phone. I run the update last night it was working fine till it got to about 88% then it came up with an error saying "communication error" so I removed the battery and tried turning it on. The screen just blinked white and that was it. So following the instructions I removed the battery and replaced it and run the update again with recovery mode, and it did the same thing got to 88% and the same error. I then tried again on an other PC and the same thing at 88%. I have know idea what's going on and how to fix it. There is nothing wrong with the DSS-25 as I've used the update before on 2 K700i and 1 being mine with no problems what so ever a while back.
So what would my next step be? It says when it fails to call customer service. I guess I would just take it down to a repair centre for then to try a flash it.
What a pain in the arse.
Cheers,

@feco thanks for the info. Which once is better? and is any of them able to use the DSS-25? If you have anymore info on this it would much appreciated.

None of them...
You can buy a T28 cable here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayIS[....]769797&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT
You can also check the DaVinci page: (They say that they will support DSS-25 soon, each log 10 euros)

I don't believe if your phone is under warranty and it broke because of flashing problems, they tell you to get lost.
They can't fix it, but they can certainly replace it.

hi. my K700i also had problems after using the online update. the only difference is that i never encountered any errors during the update. when i used my phone after the update did i notice the problems. i couldn't receive any file via BT or IR because the phone says "memory full" even if i had more than 30MB free. i also could not delete a video clip that i recorded. i couldn't also load any theme correctly. i tried the update 2 more times, one using my PC and the other using another PC but still it didn't correct anything. i attempted another update for the 4th time but now i removed my SIM card. i also encountered no errors but when the status bar was at 100% comlpeted i encountered "error in comunicating with device..." i removed the phone from the sync station (as instructed by the site), removed the battery, reinserted it and turned on the phone. my screen blinked a couple of times but fortunately my phone started up. it loaded the default theme (waip) correctly and now i was able to receive files via BT and IR. after that i haven't encountered any problems since. up to this moment my phone is still working perfectly. after this experience i'll be leaving the firmware update to the service center. no more online update for me. hope this helps.

@ j4sp33d thanks for the reply. Just a quick question how log ago did this happen, and when did it work again? Also if you remember what firmware you had. I've just noticed a few people now having the same problem. The original one when the update service started seemed to work fine, but lately people are starting to find this problem when using the update service.
I'm just trying to find any common ground with people that have had this problem. If you remember anything else like your battery level and how much memory you had on the phone when it did the "communication error" that would be good to know.
Cheers.
