So I got the Sony Ericsson phone that has Bluetooth. I know that most people use a headset. Are there other things that this Bluetooth can be used for? Help.

you can connect ot a PDA, computer, headset, CAR-100 (bt remote control car), your car, etc. etc.

For example, I dont get why you would want to connect your phone to your computer. Do a lot of people use this function cause it seems like it's just an added hassle that doesnt have many benefits?

for one thing, that's how you get your images, videos that you captured from your phone to your PC or upload music, themes, games, applications, etc. to your phone from your PC. How could this be without benefit?

You can also use your Phone with bluetooth to control your PC during presentations. Isn't that cool?

For fun you can buy the Car-100 that @kimcheeboi mentioned and use your BT phone as RC. At least fun is benificial, don't you think?

Once you have use blutooth for such things as files transfer, you would probably not buy a phone without bluetooth. Convience is the biggest word.

is also really handy for exchanging files with friends with BT phones, Ive exchanged themes, Mp3s, pictures and video clips with a few of my friends via BT

Why use BT to connect to your computer? Cuz it's easier to use than IR.

BT doesn't require line-of-sight.

The problem most people encounter with BT is range... this is mostly a problem of misconception of the consumer... and the error in marketing of the BT group.

BT was developed to be ULTRA SHORT RANGE... it was NOT meant to replace WiFi... why? power drain. Longer range... more power used. Period. No matter how good technology gets... this rule will ALWAYS exist.

BT is extremely useful for headsets and handsfree systems. Business card exchange. File transfers.

BT, for me, is like wireless USB. Think of it that way... USB cables should be 6ft for the best performance without a relay. If you treat BT the same way, it's pretty reliable. The 30ft range of BT is MAXIMUM range... OPEN SPACE... NO OTHER RADIO SIGNALS... NO WALLS... NO INHIBITORS (like the human body, or clothing) between the devices.
