Could somebody tell me if ATRAC3 files can be played on the K7 - seeing as it is sony after all.

Given the choice you wouldn't use atrac anyway. AAC would be the better compression / quality codec.

well if what u r saying ATRAC3..is long version of AAC3 then def it plays the file but when AAC3 is used to be converted to MPEG4(AAC3) Format, Use DB Power AMP MPEG4(AAC3) Codec...
