Hi,
Well now that I have been with my precious ( K700i) for over 3 months, I thought its time to do an appraisal for the phone. Here are some features and queries, I still have'nt found any answer to.

1) Is the K 700i a 3G Phone..I understand it does not support EDGE, but then which SE model does..is this is what not making this a 3G Phone.

2) The option of Video Streaming, How does one use it...Any wap sites where this feature is supported.

3) Has anyone made a pair of only Headphones for the K 700i, The Handset supplied is ok, but lacks in speaker output and Little lengthy on the left ear compared with the right MIC side. If you have been successful or know where one is available do upload the link.

4) " Play Now" function is available on both the K 500i and S 700i, Is this feature available for the K700i, where can one download it.

Looking for some solutions...! On the whole, my precious has been near perfect although once again I would state like all other K700i lovers that 41 MB memory is the only drawback you just can't get enough. Won't trade my precious for anything....

1) no it isn't a 3g phone, and even if it had edge it still wouldn't be 3g, a phone is 3g when and only when it has umts (which has data speed of 384kbits if i am correct and is based on a different technology and band than current gsm bands...) therefore the only 3g phones from se are z1010 and v800, z500 and s710 are not 3g although they have edge but as i said edge is still based on current gsm technology so it isn't 3g yet...

2) i haven't sed this a lot as gprs is quite costly here but i tried it and you you just have to find a site which has support for such thing, for an example my operator has streaming videos on their wap site (for an example you can wtch some tv programs)
but i didn't use this much because it really isn't that usefull, it's slow and the quality is crap while the quality on z1010 for an example is quite good...

3) don't know, i haven't seen any

4) As far as i know it isn't planned for the next fw.....

I guess the minimal 41 MB memory is NOT the only setback of the fone mate, specially for the EARLY buyers wherein they have to deal with the very annoying stock - R2A . . . firmware dude

! Also, the very POOR battery life!

there is no 'play now' function on my k500i, which is pretty unbranded, so i rang o2

the play now function is operator depended, like o2 dont support it. it is somewhere where you can listen to little mp3s and then download them from the operator. instead of the 'playnow' button on my k5, its replaced by o2 wap links.

play now isnt special, because to play things now you go onto media player. its talking about playing something before you buy it/download it, i think.

playnow alows you to hear the song from the website before you actually have to pay for it... only if you like it, you can download it to your phone and then you will be charged.... if you dont like what you hear select no when asked to save and you will not be charged for it..... that is the advantage of play now....

@ JN..well I was among the lucky few who got the K 700 the moment it was launched here in India ie. 5 Aug'2004...I have never faced any problem whatsoever existing in those times as complained by many of our esatoians...! Battery was a issue with R2A but since R2L..Its better than nothing...Any luck in solving my Queries..! Think People Think..

The reason for different lengths of wire on each side is because the right earphone goes into the right ear and then the wire for the left earphone goes around the neck into the left ear.
