if the phone can't format the card, i think you should try using a card reader and format using Linux (or windows) format utility

I have only been really successful in formatting Memory Sticks using Sony Computers. I also have a Sony MS card reader (solely dedicated to MS) that comes with formatting software, that works, too, but only most of the time, not always. My attempts to format using the normal Windows routines have never been successful (haven't tried Linux or MacOS). I assume (but do not know for certain) that Sony digital cameras, camcorders and Clie devices can do this (formatting) as well.

I have a 128MB card on my P910 that I canīt format. When trying got "In use" despite all is closed down. Donīt know how to work that out. Earlier could format this with no problems at all.
