> Strange IR behaviour with T610 and S700i ?
Bookmark topic
I'm having real problems getting my computer to recognise my phones using IR, pretty much ever since installing Service Pack 2 on Windows XP Professional. I've just done a clean install of windows after buying some nice new 64-bit hardware and lots of ram, but i still get the same thing. After initially setting up my IR port (Serial MA-600 Mobile Action) and activating IR on the phone/s, it works fine, installs the drivers for the handset. But when i come to connect to sync or anything at all, i don't get the 'IR notifications' in the system tray and the computer just ignores the phone, even though the light is flickering on the port itself signifying data transfer of some kind...
Does anyone have any idea what's going on? I know i could just buy a bluetooth dongle and probably solve this, but i wanna get this sorted as it's annoying me now!
Any ideas?
RooD.

Better buy a BT, Ir and XP are not much compatible, lots of people are just having that kind of problems.

damn it, didn't wanna spend anymore money this month after forking out for new computer, phone etc.
can you recommend a decent bluetooth adapter? i'd prefer one that will go INSIDE the machine rather than outside if that's possible?
it needs to be reliable and easy to use/setup cos i'm tired of faffing around with pcs
