No offence to anyone that is deeply in love with vodafone.

But have just gone and done something stupid. Maybe its the money. I think i read that vodafone is the richest mobile firm, so that if teamed up with them they would get the most back.
But are obsessed with style, so why then have they chosen the look of the menu system of voda? For instance, it doesnt look like a theme will change much, and the battery icon is not . All phones have a green to yellow to red. Just stupid nokia lines for this phone.

This phone is amazing, but i just cannot see the logic in teaming up with the company that has:

got the most branding
branding that on the k700i cannot be undone
disallowed mp3's as ringtones
has the worst logo, that really puts you off a voda phone
is very expensive in terms of buying a phone
is very expensive in terms of using the phone
and has probably lost alot of supporters

thankfully though, voda have not overdone it, but even the icons do not represent sony ericson in anyway!

you may argue that customer services is good, but quite frankly, so is everyone else. i have broken 2 phones, had them fixed free of charge, and the network signal quality for orange and o2 is brill. i have been to the cheviots and everywhere, and my p800 and k500i soon to be k700i worked great!

arent vodaphone the biggest mobilephone comapny in the world and also one of the biggest companies.
perhaps se feel that they want there brands in as many countries as possible and that compromise to vodaphone is a good way to achieve this.
since vodaphone do the same to all the live phones nokia samsung etc are all in the same boat as se
but better to get your name out there and people at least looking at your phones
youve got a better chance of selling if more people see your product

some deals are simply too good/lucrative for companies to turn down! lets just hope that as a result of the extra income SE can really blow us all away in 2005 with new handsets. This is why i dont see it as a bad move as the fianancial stability this sort of deal brings to SE allows them to give the go-ahead to many more development projects etc.

btw: in the cpw mag it has a section for vodafone and they have a picture of a moto, the sony ericsson v800 and a sharp as 3g video phones and talk a little about they are coming soon.

I'm glad that the v800 wont be exclusive to vodafone for long, just at the launch. I'm sure there will be an unbranded version

Se has to agree the voda and other operators dictates, this is business. More areas to sell their models, years ago there were some brands, now a days everybody started to make fones, the operators dictate and the brands go in all kind of compromise just to be present on every level of the market. yes but they could have tried a tad harder with the menu. i am sure vodafone wouldnt have minded. its a little too voda, but so what.
