> Storing and calling a "number + extension" in K500i
Bookmark topic
Hello all,
I just bought a sony ericsson K500i phone (my first sony eric phone, and I love it) and am still getting to femiliarize with it.
I have few numbers like (987) 654-3210 Ext : 1234
I'd like to store this entire information in the phone so I don't have to type the extension everytime I call the number. I'd like the phone to dial extension number automatically after a couple of seconds (pause) or after I press any key (wait).
I was using Nokia phones before, and they had (pause) and (wait) functionality by pressing the * key 3-4 times.
Does my phone (K500i) has any such feature ?
Please help....

Put "P" between the number and extension IF the transfer is digital and automatic.U can find that by pressing long " * ".

Cool. 701, thanks for replying. I've got the "P" figured out.
But I did not understand "pressing long * ". "No matter how long I keep the * key pressed, nothing happens.

There r two kinds of pressing a button. Let's take the "star" button as an example: if u press it one time , that's a short press and u get a "star". If u press again but one second LONGER than the 1st time u get a "P" . That's a the long and the short press.
I have to shed light on something: u DON't just enter letter "P" between the numer and the extension!!! Not THAT "P" but the "P" from the long press of the "*" button!
So, u enter the number, then press "*" for 2 seconds while the "*" changes into a "p", then the extension number!! If u don't undersand, can do nuthin' for u.I think i am VERY explicit!

Yup. I understand that. But perhaps it is model specific. My model is K500i.
In my phone even if I keep the "*" button pressed for a "long press" it does NOT change to "p".
However, if I press "7" for a "long press" it changes to "p". (note that NO other numeric key changes to corresponding alphabet; only the 7/p key does). This is working as a puse and is dialing the extension number after a couple of seconds.
Perhaps Sony changed it for this model.
thanks for you help.
