Hi all,
a friend of mine wants to organize an event and would like to do something special. And for this I appeal to the best community in the web...(just teasing) to help me.
Ok, let's get serious...
What he is looking for is the following:
A PC (Win) software that scans for bluetooth devices automatically and then, once found a new one or lost an old one, creates a log file in the form of text, that can be used for other applications.
The idea is that you would be able to write a program that performs certain actions when a BT device is detected (not interacting directly with the phone, but like starting a fan, lighting a bulb, whatever...).
It is because of an event he wants to organize...
If someone knows where to find such a program (or maybe is aware of some legal issues involved) could he/she send a link to it?
As you might have understood ESATO is the only place I can rationally hope to find such a program.
Now, the difficult part...
This person doesn't have any bluetooth on the computer, but owns both a P800 and a TREO... So I thought about using this (and the sync with the computer) to perform the action. But if not, then I think he might afford to buy a bluetooth card for the PC.
Thank you "esatoans" for any help, and sorry for the post being so long. But it's quite hard for me to explain it all in english and I tried to keep things simple.
