Hi all,
I hope you'll be happy to find out that GMail is currently putting in
POP3 access for its users.

As the link says, it won't be available straight away to everyone. Best bet is to check your account every now and again and look up the top on the page for a menu item along the lines of "New features!".
Cheers,
Ino!~

Good stuff. Now they need to listen to my suggestion and implement embedded pictures instead of having a link to open picture in new window. It should be an option to turn that off. Have you all been suggesting features to help them out? BY THE WAY...Marlonxp, are you in Jamaica?

There's already a pop3 program for it, called pop goes the gmail. Great to hear there's internal support now, though!

While your average Linux or MS weenie would say "it's not hard" think in gooo...ooo...oooogle terms. You've got millions of people POPping off your servers simultaneously. Scaling to such numbers was never easy. My feeling is that they had to develop some serious software to allow for this. Then we still have to see how easy/good/quick/reliable this service is in its version 1.0.
Cheers,
