> Li-Po battery question

hi, my k500i automatically shuts down itself when the battery is critically low. i know that the cell still has power since i can open the phone, but as soon as opened, it gives a "battery low" message and shuts down itself again. is this a way to protect the battery. i heard that Li-Po batteries must remain in some voltage range and maybe the phone tries to prevent descending below the low-limit voltage of the battery

My Z1010 Li-Polymer batterie gets very quick discharged at these low temperatures. Is this usual? In August my Z1010 had a UMTS standby-time of 3-4 days, now it lasts only 1-2 days. Strange

Just like Lithium-ion, Lithium Polymer batteries must be kept charged at all times... Do NOT let your battery run down flat or you'll be replacing it in 6 months! Everytime your phone's battery status is down a bit, put it on charge; you get in the car? Put it on charge! Come home from work? Put it on charge! Get into the office? Put it on charge! Just whatever you do, DON'T let it run down completely flat (ideally you'd keep it above half at all times)...

dont run flat in the first two months as the batt may not power up again... after two months you may run it flat... yes powering dowm of the phone is normal under heavy usage....

@help - I guess that's a COMMON practice in almost ALL SE fones mate . . . 'bout the battery issue, shuts- OFF when already critical/low/drained . . .

I charge it everytime the phone sends the warning, and mine is working ok. Extremely high or low temperatures can affect battery performance, with significant reduction of stby and talk times.

it does make me wonder why S.E. take so much flak about batt life when they could've included a spare batt and charged me an extra tenner instead of taking so much sh1t
