Am I missing something here? I was under the impression that if I had a picture assigned to a contact then it would display on the external screen if that person rang. So far I've tried calling my phone from two separate numbers with a picture attached to the contact but neither displays a picture on the external screen, just the name. When I open the flip the image does display on the main display. From the manual it is difficult to tell whether it is supposed to appear on the ext. screen as well or not. Seems strange if it doesn't as the ext. screen is quite happy to act as a viewfinder for the camera when the phone is closed. Anyone know if I've got a setting wrong somewhere or is this simply not a feature?

ok well I have played aruond and have to agree that I cannot get the caller image to display externally. This is the same on the motorola V3 too.

its a shame really as the external display does seem pretty good

It should work because if you look at the official pics it has the pic of a girl on the front.

yes it shud work.... read some artical and it shud.... Z500 also shud do the same thing.... try again... maybe theres an option that allows u to choose whether to place it on the ext or int..... I hope this function will be cleared coz.. they stated clearly that caller id on the ext-screen.. if not they hv been doin false advertising..

Well the ext. screen does have caller ID - just not picture caller ID (that I can see anyway). It has no problems displaying the picture on the main screen though.

But that pick could illustrate that you could have de display as the finder for the camera, since there are no name and stuff over the picture.

The caller image on the V3 can be displayed on the external display but only if you assign the picture to the internal phonebook contact

You cannot assign caller image if you are using the sim phonebook contact

but that need not be a caller ID image does it? It could be part of a theme for all you know.

oops! yes I can confirm the caller image is displayed on the external screen on the V3.

but... I have had a good read of the manual, the faq and just chatted with SE support and they tell me you can only assign wallpaper to the external screen (which support told me is what is in the web sites pictures), the caller image is not displayed at all

However, I find that hard to believe so I'm going to still keep trying to find a way
