will a cellphone with 900/1800/1900 network work perfectly without a glitch on countries with 800/1900 network frequency?

First i think it's 850 not 800. And it depends what bands your provider uses. Should work in the usa though. This message was posted from a T610

ur right its really 850 but it is also called 800. well anyways back to my original Q.

Canada uses 800/1900 frequency network. wil my 900/1800/1900 tri-band cell work perfectly without problems in Canada? Someone told me that the 800 and 900 frequency is used in close, congested paces while the 1800/1900 frequency is for open and wide areas,

Please comment on this. Ireally need the info.

i said it depends on the service prodvider

for example t-mobile uses the 1900 band everywhere

and i really don't think 850 is the same as 800

800 is not 850.

850 is a new frequency of GSM (in addition to 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz).

800 is a working frequency of iDEN mobile system. There are some dual system phones, iDEN + GSM.

Only triband/qband gsm phone, not network. GSM bands standized and commercialy available are 900M/1800M/1900M/800M(also know as 850M). They are all general names of certain frequency spectrums defined by gsm, not exactly the four frequencies. 800 and 850 refer to the same band for gsm. It was launched in the north Americas, because they need more spectrum and better coverage than their earlier gsm1900. It defined them the new standard gsm 800. Actually 900/800 can give better radio coverage than 1800/1900. This message was posted from a Z1010
