as soon as I switch my phone on about 10 sms pops up with the same text (sorry I'm late) and then every now and then i get the same sms popping up in different intervals. I tried restoring my phone to factory settings, updating firmware etc... but with no luck. your help will be much appreciated.

Unusual one...could this be a genuine SMS virus?

are the sms coming from a phone number that you know?
if so (means the sms is not been sent over to you by some spammer) i'd try deleting some sms from the simcard (maybe it has sthg to do with that. it wouldnt be the first time).
if your question is how to block sms from a certain sender, i think theres a couple of apps out there that can help you out. dont remember the names though(im on the bus).
so i hope i helped you, or at least maybe now you have some new directions to investigate.

no it has no number showing and i even got rid of my old sim and exchanged it with a brand new one from my provider thinking that it might solve the problem but with no luck. I remember when i first bought the phone and turned it on the first time the same smss showed up (sorry im late)..

Have you tried your sim in another phone. If you get the message when the sim is in another phone then it is a problem with the network you are on.

yes the sim in another phone works fine but only this phone (P900) does that.
