i need to send a video clip to somone, and they only have basic viewing facilities, so im guessing they can only play mpgs and nothing more (probably avi's but probably not mp4s)
so im looking for a converter to go from 3gpp to mpg, i've tried mpegable x4 live, it will do mpg to 3gpp but not the other way round
i've been told to have a look at the nokia media converter, but i cant seem to be able to down load it, i have registered, but it does not let me log in to the site.
are there any other alternatives out there?

Can't the person you need to send the clips to just download the latest QuickTime? It's very easy...
If they can, you can just send them the .3gp files without converting.

Yoo need to convert 3GP to AVI first. Most probably your friend's old pc would be able to play it. If not, convert the AVI to mpg.
Im quite sure u cant convert directly from 3GP to MPG unless someone can correct me.
The following is taken from
www.nokiafree.org
Download the 3gpToRawAvi converter from here:
http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/down...3gpToRawAvi.zip
Unzip 3gpToRawAvi.zip and move folder '3gpToRawAvi' to, for instance, C:3gpToRawAvi.
Move a .3gp movie file you want to convert to the same folder (C:3gpToRawAvi).
Then go to the command window:
1. Click on the Start button
2. Click on Run
3. Type in "cmd" and click OK to display the dos window
4. If you're not in C:> go to C:> by typing "c:" followed by Enter
5. In C:> go to C:3gpToRawAvi> by typing "cd 3gpToRawAvi" followed by Enter
6. In C:3gpToRawAvi> type "3gptorawavi -o " followed by Enter
Note: Replace with the .3gp file name without the .3pg extension and with the .avi file name of your choice. Eg. "3gptorawavi Video1 -o Video2"
7. The new raw avi file will be placed in the same folder.
Good luck
