I have a question for you guys. The P900 has the ability to send short wav files through SMS, right? They have preinstalled sounds like drumroll, chimes, and clapping. Well, they are on the Z drive and I can't move more sounds to that drive. My question is, when you are choosing the sound to go in the SMS there are two folders to choose from, system sounds and message sounds. The system sounds folder is where all the preinstalled sounds are. Where can I find the message sounds folder? I've searched all over with Sman's file manager. If it's not on the Z drive them we could, in theory, send sound clips made with the sound recorder through SMS. That would be cool.

No, you can't do that cause they are not wav files. They are internal sounds- MIDI type, just simplyer. The melodies have their code (e.g. Chimes high is say mel.9) and phone sends only the melody code, while receiver recognizes it and plays it as a sound- so i think you cant get anything more than your phone already has. The same goes to sms animation.

I hate to disagree, but they are wav files. If you find them in Sman's filemanager you will see that they are labeled as " Fanfare.wav" etc...
Besides, you can just listen to them and tell it is definitely not a midi.
Still didn't get an answer to my question. Does anyone know where the message sounds folder is located????

They are indeed WAVs on the P-Series, they're MIDIs on T610 etc.
You can find them in Z:\System\apps\QMapp\
You cannot add any others & they are indeed sent as a code. The sounds are stored in each phone & played according to the code received in the SMS.
While it plays as a WAV on P900 when u add it to an SMS, if u send it to a T610 it plays a MIDI
