Hi All,
I'm a newbie and I am having troubles with my new SEK700i.
I inserted my old sim card which already had 29 saved sms on it already (max 30) into my new SEK700i and I am now unable to save any further sms msg after I hit 30. I was under the belief that the SEK700 could store hundreds of text sms. The instruction book says that text messages are stored to the phones memory and when the phones memory is full I have to move it to the sim card, but I am unable to perform that function. It only saves to my sim card and stops when it hits 30 texts.
How do I move text sms msgs from sim card to phone memory and vice versa?
Please help, What am I doing wrong?

I don't even want to save it the the sim.
Do you know of any function that is buried deep in the bowels of the SEK700 that needs to be activated.

perhaps you oughta try saving the ones on your sim onto your PC (use FMA) and delete them off your sim? Just to see if it makes a difference

Did you empty the sent items box? That also counts for the total.
If the sms messages are inbox they are stored in the phone and the ones on the simcard are in saved messages

@mickwhit - Well I guess it also depends on your SIM's SMS allocation features mate . . . Well we have a local network here that can store up to 250 SMS on it's Sim Card pal

If you select the save option, it tries to save it to the sim. Dont select that, and just leave it - it is automatically saved to the phone. Only if you want to save to the sim do you select the save option. Also it when it is automatically saved onto the phone, it is not saved to the 40mb but it is saved to a special sms memory which can save an odd 100sms.

The phone have the option to save sms into the sim, but not to save them back to the phone. I belive that what you want to do is send messages in your sim back to the phone and backup them, so you only have 2 options:
1. Install fma and backup all messages on sim card to your pc.
2. If you want messages back to the phone do this: text messages/sim archive/message/more/forward, then continue just like you do to send it selecting the contact to forward, but not send, just exit and the message will be stored on the unsend box.
That's the best solution I can find.
